Greatness

Principles of greatness

What is greatness? Greatness is been great. To be great is to be exceptionally talented, powerful and influential. God created all mankind to be great but can we say all men are great, no of course all mean are not great. Now why is it that all men are not great? It is because most men do not know the principles of greatness but that few who go far to use the principles of greatness eventually turn out to be great men and women both in our present age and in the yester years. In this article we shall look at those principles of greatness which great men use.

SECRETE LAWS

LAW OF DECISION:

Life does not give you what you deserve, but what you decide, what you want and what you are determined to have nothing less than.
If you don’t stand for something, you will fall anything. Until you know what to reject you can not posses what you deserve.
The rejection of failure is the standing point for the possession of success.

LAW OF DETERMINATION:

Determine in your heart today what grades are unacceptable to you. What you will get from life, will not depend on the options available, but the choices you make.
Everyday you will have the option to choose what is right or wrong, to be great or to be average, to excel or to fail.
There are two path on the journey of life; the path of frustration and the path celebration, choose these day to tread the path of celebration.

LAW OF PRIORITIZATION:

High achievers know what is important and do firs things first.
“Do the right thing at the right time” that is the song of champions.
Whenever there is a clash in your activities, make the decision to turn down low priority one for a high priority one.

LAW OF CONCENTRATION:

To be physically present but mentally absent is against the essence of learning.
Concentration requires the combination of your body and your mind. Bring your mind to class with you.
Concentration is an art of blocking out every side attraction.

LAW OF REPUTATION:

What you are reputed for is what you are regarded for the difference between ‘nobody’ and “somebody” is reputation.
Be known for something great and then you will be somebody and not a nobody or anybody.
You have a name to protect and a good personality to promote live up to it with good grades.
Your reputation is built by what people see you do and hear from you everyday and every minute.

LAW OF CONSISTENCY:

It is things you do consistently that produce results.
Practice makes perfect. Practice how to make it to the top now.
Where you get to in life will be determined by what you do with your mind and time consistently. Consistency build your habits. Habit build your character and character builds your reputation. Build a solid reputation of excellence in all your endeavor.
Make a habit of achieving great results now, as a consequence it will be a lifestyle your children will thank you for in the future.

LAW OF ADMIRATION:

The kind of people you admire will determine the kind people you attract. You will attract not only their persons but also their results.
Choose carefully what you admire, if you cannot admire that result, they don’t deserve your admiration.
Birds of the same feather flock together! Who do you flock with? Can you remember their last achievement.

LAW OF SACRIFICE:

There is always a price for the prize. No pain is gain. The pain of preparation determine the gain of celebration.
Every success has a measure of sacrifice if you are not willing to pay the price, don’t expect to get the prize.
Bad association influence bad thoughts, which influence bad actions that result in bad consequences.
Remember he who laugh last, laughs best.

LAW OF FOCUS:

Focus creates blindness.
Do the things that will cause your desired result to be natural occurrence.
Focus on what you need to do to get the right result.

LAW OF RETENTION:

what you repeat often, you will retain.
A candle does not loose its light by lighting other candles. You don’t loose knowledge by sharing. You actually gain more.
No one cares what you know, until they know how much you care.
Those who learn with the intention of teaching others retain more than those who learn with the intention of merely knowing.

LAW OF HINDSIGHT:

Lesson learnt from yesterday equip you for today.
Lessons from the past can be invaluable treasures for the future.

LAW OF SELF DISCOVERY:

Every notable discovery begins with a self-discovery.
Know what work best for you. The greatest discovery ever made is the discovery of self.
There is no one else like you in the entire world. You are the only true original of yourself.
Appreciate what makes you unique and use it to the best effort to get the results you desire.

LAW OF APPRECIATION:

An attitude of gratitude will get you to the highest altitude. You feel gratitude but show appreciation.
Appreciation is an act of from the heart, let your life show appreciation.
Whatever you don’t appreciate, depreciates.
If you take your education for granted, academic excellence will elude you.
Eventually people will always pay for what you know. And you will pay for what you don’t know.
Your earning power is your learning power. Grab the opportunity to set the right foundation for learning now!
Even with all the money, most people without education still carry the frustration of inferiority complex. Money can buy a degree but it will never buy the satisfaction derived from education.
Never take for granted the opportunity to get a good education.
A good education opens the door to the top. The value you attach to your education, will determine the value it will bring to your life.

LAW OF THE SUPERNATURAL:

Prayerful preparation prevent poor performance. With God all things are possible. If you work without prayer, you will be limiting yourself.
Work and pray. Work without prayer leads to frustration. Prayer without work is self deception. So you work and pray.
“I have held many things in my hand and lost them all; but whatever, I have in God’s hand I still possess” MARTIN LUTHER
”No horse gets any one anywhere until he’s harnessed, no steam or gas drives anything until it is confined , No Niagara ever turns anything into light or power until is tunneled, No life ever does great thing until focused, dedicated and disciplined so said, a Christian writer.”
Matt 5: 16, says “let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father who is in heaven.
Zeal/zest, diligence, sense of responsibility, fear of God are some of the factors that lead to greatness and bring your light of greatness to shine before men.

Ultimately, greatness in life is contingent on many factors, but harnessing and utilizing the available potentialities and experiences of the elder generation is of utmost important.

History of Christianity

The word Christian and Christianity in recent time have been of great interest to me. Since then I began to do endless research about the two word Christian and Christianity.
To understand fully what Christian and Christianity we need to start by defining the two word.

Who is a Christian?
A Christian is a person who adheres to Christianity.

What is Christianity?
Christianity is Abrahamic, monotheistic, religion based on the life and teaching of Jesus Christ, who Christians believes is the 1. messiah (messiah is a greek word meaning Christ) prophesied in the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible, Christians also believe he is the Son of God.

What is a chriatian?
Christian is a wide range of belief and practices found across the world among those who call themselves Christian. The Nicene Creed was established in the 4th century as an expression of Christian faith in the face heresy (heresy means false doctrine, as opposed to Christianity).

What is the difference between who is a Christian and what is a Christian?
The above sound controversial to me hence I want to clear the bleak thing about it.
The word are same but different in meaning the first one that is who is a Christian is a person who adhere to the last one that is what is a Christian in other word what is a Christian can be likened to what is Christianity while who is a Christian is the person practicing it.

Types of Christianity
There are various type of Christianity some of these Christian are explained below.

Active Christians
These types of Christians are committed to attending church, bible reading, and sharing their faith that salvation comes through Jesus Christ. These group of Christians also accept leadership position in the church.

Professing Christians
These types of Christians are committed to “accepting Jesus Christ as savior and lord” as the key of been a Christian, but focus on a personal relationship with God and Jesus more than on church, bible reading and sharing of faith.

Liturgical Christians
These types of Christians have high level of spiritual activity, mainly expressed by attending and recognizing the authority of the church, and by serving in it or in the community.

Private Christians
These types of Christians believe in doing good things, but not within a church context. In the American survey, this Christian group was the largest and youngest segment of the church.

Cultural Christian
These types of Christians do not view Jesus as essential for salvation. They are likely to align their belief or practice with biblical teachings or to attend church. They favor a universality theology that sees many ways to God.

Other countries may not show exactly these varieties of Christian group, especially in country where there is active persecution of Christians.

Christians who have a distinct heritage and come to believe in Jesus Christ may also identify themselves differently. Messianic Jews: these are Christians believe that they are set of Judaism and that Jesus Christ is the Jewish messiah and divine savior. These Christians also seek to live in obedience to the remaining aspect of mosaic law found in the Torah.
As the identification of the messiah with Jesus Christ is not accepted within Judaism, in Hebrew Christians are called Notzirm (“Nazarenes”), originally derived from the fact that Jesus Christ came from the city of Nazareth in Israel. However, Messianic Jews are referred to in modern Hebrew as (yehudim meshihi’im).

Among Arabs (whether Christian, Muslim or belonging to other faiths), as well as in other languages influence by the Arabic language (mainly in Muslim cultures influenced by Arabic as the liturgical language of Islam), two words are commonly used for Christians: Nasrani and masihi meaning followers of messiah.
Where there is distinction, nasrani refers to people from a Christian culture and masihi means those with religious faith in Jesus Christ. In some countries nasrani tends to be used generally for Non-Muslim white people. Another Arabic word sometimes used for Christians, particularly in a political context, is salibi; this refers to crusaders and has negative connotations.

The word nasrani is generally understood to be derived from Nazareth through the synac (Aramaic), in some areas of the Arab world, tradition holds the it is derived from nasr (“victory”), and means “people of victory” in reference to the early success of the Christian religion or to the initial Christian Ethiopian support to Muhammad during his early conflicts in Arabia. Nasrani is also sometime said to derive from ansar which means “disciple”. The Syrian Malabar Nasrani or Nasranee people are Christian ethno-religious group from Kerala, in India, possibly Jewish in ethnic origin.

Etymology of the word Christian.
The word Christian comes from Greek word (christianos), from (christos) meaning the anointed one. In the Greek version of the Hebrew bible, christos was used to translate the Hebrew word (messiah), meaning [one who is] anointed.

The first known usage of the word Christian can be found in the New Testament. “the disciple was first called Christian at Antioch. They were disciple and followers of Jesus Christ. The other two New Testament uses of the word Christian also referred to the public identity of the Jews who followed Jesus Christ prior to the adoption of Christianity by no-Jews. The Jewish king said the apostle Paul had almost persuaded the king “to become a Christian,” at the meaning the Jewish Messianic sect following Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Peter encouraged believers who are abused “because you are a Christian,” don’t give it a second thought. Be proud of the distinguished status reflected in that name “Christian”!
The recorded use of the word Christian outside the bible was when Tacitus recorded that Nero blamed the “Christians” for the Great Fire of Rome in AD64.

“Christian” also means a member or adherent of a church or other organized group within Christianity. As an adjective, the term may describe anything associated with or thought to be consistent with Christianity, as in “the Christian thing to do”

Jesus Christ quotes

The following are some of Jesus Christ Quotes and parable its commentary have been added to aid understanding because the word of the master Jesus are words of wisdom

Jesus Christ Quotes and parable explained.
Jesus quotes 1: Mt 13:57 So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house."

And they were offended in him. Made to stumble. Led into error. They could not see how one so humble, and of so humble a family, could be so great a teacher.

Jesus said, A prophet, etc. A proverb that is quoted and applied.

(NKJV)

Jesus quotes 2: Mt 13:52 Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

Jesus quotes 3: Mt 15:8 'These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.

This people. The Jews.

Mt 15:8 'These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.

Mt 15:9 And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'"

are the quotation from Isaiah [

Isa 29:13 Therefore the Lord said: "Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,

].

Their heart is far from me. The essential of true worship is that the heart be wholly given to God. Even the forms commanded by God are worthless unless they are obeyed from the heart.

(NKJV)

Jesus quotes 4: Mt 15:10 When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, "Hear and understand:

He called the multitude. In order to show them that the Pharisaical expounders of the law did not understand its real sense.

11 "Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man."

Not that which goeth into a man defileth. The Mosaic law forbade Jews to eat what was ceremonially unclean, in order to teach the need of moral purity. The Rabbins added stringent precepts to prevent the slightest contact with ceremonial uncleanness, but were careless about moral purity. Christ shows that a pure heart is far more important than clean food, in the ceremonial sense, in the stomach. Pharisees in all ages have paid more attention to the letter than to the spirit, to the symbol than to that which is signified.

That which cometh out of a man. The impure words that indicate an impure heart. What one eats does not render him defiled before God, but what he says. See

Mt 15:18-23 "But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. "These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man." Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed." But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, "Send her away, for she cries out after us."

.

(NKJV)

Jesus quotes 5 : Mt 15:13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
(KJV)

Jesus quotes 6 : Mt 15:16 So Jesus said, "Are you also still without understanding?
17 "Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated?

Is cast out. What is eaten passes through the body and passes away. It does not defile the soul.

18 "But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.

Come forth from the heart. The emotional nature; the mind. Evil deeds are begotten of evil thoughts; evil words are the expression of these evil thoughts. These indicate a sinful heart and make a man sinful, or defiled.

19 "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.
20 "These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man."
(NKJV)

Jesus quotes 7 : Mt 15:24 But He answered and said, "I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

I am not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. The Lord's personal mission was to the Jews. Under the first commission his apostles were directed to go only to the Jews (

Mt 10:6 "But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

). It would be impossible to evangelize the Gentiles without setting aside the Jewish customs, the law of Moses, and arousing the bitterest prejudice of the Jews. Hence it was the divine plan that the Son should "keep the law blameless" during his ministry. It was only when the Jews crucified him that "the handwriting of ordinances was nailed to the cross" [

Col 2:14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

], the "wall of partition" [

Eph 2:14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,

] between Jews and Gentiles broken down, and all prepared for the Great Commission which bade his disciples "go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" [

Mr 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

].

(NKJV)

Jesus quotes 8 : Mt 15:26 But He answered and said, "It is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs."

It is not meet to take the children's bread. She knew that, in comparing the Jews to the children of God's family, and the heathen to the dogs without, he simply used the customary language of a Jew. He would bring out fully the greatness of her faith. The gospel was offered first to the Jews and then to all.

(NKJV)

Jesus quotes 9 : Mt 15:28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire." And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

Woman, great is thy faith. We can see how greatness of faith is manifested: (1) She came to Christ under difficulties. (2) She persevered when her prayer seemed to be denied. (3) She still pleaded when obstacles were presented. (4) She waited at the feet of the Lord until he had mercy. Such faith always prevails.

Her daughter was made whole. Mark, who adds some features omitted by Matthew, follows the woman home, where she found her daughter no longer raving, or in convulsions, but lying quiet on the bed, healed in consequence of her mother's faith and prayers (

Mr 7:30 And when she had come to her house, she found the demon gone out, and her daughter lying on the bed.
).

(NKJV)

Jesus quotes 10 : Mt 15:32 Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, "I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way."

I have compassion on the multitude. Because while seeking him in his mountain solitude many of them had been for three days without regular food.

(NKJV)

Jesus quotes 11 : Mt 16:2 He answered and said to them, "When it is evening you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red';
3 "and in the morning, 'It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.' Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.

Ye cannot discern the signs of the times. They could read the weather, but were blind to the events (signs of the times) that showed the fulfillment of prophecy, the end of the Jewish dispensation, and the establishment of the Messiah's kingdom.

4 "A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah." And He left them and departed.

No sign shall be given unto it but the sign of the prophet Jonah. See [Mt 12:40].

(NKJV)

Jesus quotes 12 : Mt 16:6 Then Jesus said to them, "Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees."

Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, etc. The teaching and influence which spreads like leaven. See

Mt 16:12 Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

. The figure of the leaven was suggested by their need of bread. Mark, instead of "of the Sadducees," says, "of Herod" [

Mr 8:15 Then He charged them, saying, "Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod."

]. Herod and his followers were Sadducees.

(NKJV)

Jesus quotes 13 : Mt 16:8 But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, "O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread?

* when.

Joh 2:24 But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men,

Joh 16:30 "Now we are sure that You know all things, and have no need that anyone should question You. By this we believe that You came forth from God."

Heb 4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Re 2:23 "I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.

* O ye.

Mt 6:30 "Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

Mt 8:26 But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.

Mt 14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"

Mr 16:14 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.

9 "Do you not yet understand, or remember the five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up?

* ye not.

Mt 15:16 So Jesus said, "Are you also still without understanding?

Mt 15:17 "Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated?

Mr 7:18 So He said to them, "Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him,

Lu 24:25-27 Then He said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! "Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?" And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

Re 3:19 "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

* the five loaves.

Mt 14:17-21 And they said to Him, "We have here only five loaves and two fish." He said, "Bring them here to Me." Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

Mr 6:38-44 But He said to them, "How many loaves do you have? Go and see." And when they found out they said, "Five, and two fish." Then He commanded them to make them all sit down in groups on the green grass. So they sat down in ranks, in hundreds and in fifties. And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and the two fish He divided among them all. So they all ate and were filled. And they took up twelve baskets full of fragments and of the fish. Now those who had eaten the loaves were about five thousand men.

Lu 9:13-17 But He said to them, "You give them something to eat." And they said, "We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we go and buy food for all these people." For there were about five thousand men. Then He said to His disciples, "Make them sit down in groups of fifty." And they did so, and made them all sit down. Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them.

Joh 6:9-13 "There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?" Then Jesus said, "Make the people sit down." Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, "Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost." Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.

10 "Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand and how many large baskets you took up?

Mt 15:34 Jesus said to them, "How many loaves do you have?" And they said, "Seven, and a few little fish."

Mt 15:38 Now those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children.

Mr 8:5-9 He asked them, "How many loaves do you have?" And they said, "Seven." So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples to set before them ; and they set them before the multitude. They also had a few small fish; and having blessed them, He said to set them also before them. So they ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets of leftover fragments. Now those who had eaten were about four thousand. And He sent them away,

Mr 8:17-21 But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, "Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened? "Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember? "When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up?" They said to Him, "Twelve." "Also, when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of fragments did you take up?" And they said, "Seven." So He said to them, "How is it you do not understand?"

11 "How is it you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread? --but to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees."

Mr 4:40 But He said to them, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?"

Mr 8:21 So He said to them, "How is it you do not understand?"

Lu 12:56 "Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?

Joh 8:43 "Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.

(NKJV)

Jesus quotes 14 : Mt 16:13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?"

* came.

Mt 15:21 Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon.

Ac 10:38 "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

* Caesarea Philippi.
C‘sarea Philippi was anciently called Paneas, from the
mountain of Panium, or Hermon, at the foot of which it was
situated, near the springs of Jordan; but Philip the tetrarch,
the son of Herod the Great, having rebuilt it, gave it the
name of C‘sarea in honour of Tiberius, the reigning emperor,
and he added his own name to it, to distinguish it from
another C‘sarea on the coast of the Mediterranean. It was
afterwards named Neronias by the young Agrippa, in honour of
Nero; and in the time of William of Tyre, it was called
Belinas. It was, according to Josephus, a day's journey from
Sidon, and 120 stadia from the lake of Phiala; and, according
to Abulfeda, a journey of a day and a half from Damascus.
Many have confounded it with Dan, or Leshem; but Eusebius and
Jerome expressly affirm that Dan was four miles from Paneas,
on the road to Tyre. It is now called Banias, and is
described, by Seetzen, as a hamlet of about twenty miserable
huts, inhabited by Mohammedans; but Burckhardt says it
contains about 150 houses, inhabited by Turks, Greeks, etc.

Mr 8:27 Now Jesus and His disciples went out to the towns of Caesarea Philippi; and on the road He asked His disciples, saying to them, "Who do men say that I am?"

* Whom.

Lu 9:18-20 And it happened, as He was alone praying, that His disciples joined Him, and He asked them, saying, "Who do the crowds say that I am?" So they answered and said, "John the Baptist, but some say Elijah; and others say that one of the old prophets has risen again." He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered and said, "The Christ of God."

* I the.

Mt 8:20 And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head."

Mt 9:6 "But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins" --then He said to the paralytic, "Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house."

Mt 12:8 "For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."

Mt 12:32 "Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

Mt 13:37 He answered and said to them: "He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.

Joh 5:27 "and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.

Joh 12:34 The people answered Him, "We have heard from the law that the Christ remains forever; and how can You say, 'The Son of Man must be lifted up'? Who is this Son of Man?"

Ac 7:56 and said, "Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!"

Heb 2:14-18 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham. Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.

Jesus quotes 15 : Mt 16:17 Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

* Blessed.

Mt 5:3-11 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.

Mt 13:16 "But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;

Mt 13:17 "for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

Lu 10:23 Then He turned to His disciples and said privately, "Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see;

Lu 22:32 "But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren."

1Pe 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

1Pe 5:1 The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed:

* Simon.

Joh 1:42 And he brought him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, "You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas" (which is translated, A Stone).

Joh 21:15-17 So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Feed My lambs." He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Tend My sheep." He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.

* for.

Ga 1:11 But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.

Ga 1:12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Ga 1:16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood,

* but.

Mt 11:25-27 At that time Jesus answered and said, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. "Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. "All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.

Isa 54:13 All your children shall be taught by the LORD, And great shall be the peace of your children.

Lu 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.

Lu 10:22 "All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him."

Joh 6:45 "It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught by God.' Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.

Joh 17:6-8 "I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. "Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. "For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me.

1Co 2:9-12 But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him." But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

Eph 3:5 which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets:

Eph 3:18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height--

Eph 3:19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Col 1:26 the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.

Col 1:27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

1Jo 4:15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

1Jo 5:20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

Mt 10:2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

Joh 1:42 And he brought him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, "You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas" (which is translated, A Stone).

Ga 2:9 and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

Isa 28:16 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; Whoever believes will not act hastily.

1Co 3:10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it.

1Co 3:11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Eph 2:19-22 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Re 21:14 Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

* I will.

Zec 6:12 "Then speak to him, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, saying: "Behold, the Man whose name is the BRANCH! From His place He shall branch out, And He shall build the temple of the LORD;

Zec 6:13 Yes, He shall build the temple of the LORD. He shall bear the glory, And shall sit and rule on His throne; So He shall be a priest on His throne, And the counsel of peace shall be between them both."'

1Co 3:9 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building.

Jesus quotes 16 : Mt 16:23 But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."

* Get.

Mt 4:10 Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.'"

Ge 3:1-6 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?" And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; "but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.'" Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die. "For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

Ge 3:17 Then to Adam He said, "Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat of it': "Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life.

Mr 8:33 But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, "Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."

Lu 4:8 And Jesus answered and said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.'"

2Co 11:14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

2Co 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

* Satan.

2Sa 19:22 And David said, "What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah, that you should be adversaries to me today? Shall any man be put to death today in Israel? For do I not know that today I am king over Israel?"

1Ch 21:1 Now Satan stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel.

Zec 3:1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him.

Zec 3:2 And the LORD said to Satan, "The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?"

Joh 6:70 Jesus answered them, "Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?"

Mt 18:7 "Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

Isa 8:14 He will be as a sanctuary, But a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense To both the houses of Israel, As a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Ro 14:13 Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother's way.

Ro 14:21 It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak.

Mr 8:33 But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, "Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."

Ro 8:5-8 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

1Co 2:14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1Co 2:15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.

Jesus quotes 18 : Mt 17:11 Jesus answered and said to them, "Indeed, Elijah is coming first and will restore all things.
12 "But I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him but did to him whatever they wished. Likewise the Son of Man is also about to suffer at their hands."

Elias is come already. John the Baptist, who came in the spirit and power of Elijah (

Mr 1:2-8 As it is written in the Prophets: "Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You." "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the LORD; Make His paths straight.'" John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. Then all the land of Judea, and those from Jerusalem, went out to him and were all baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins. Now John was clothed with camel's hair and with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. And he preached, saying, "There comes One after me who is mightier than I, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to stoop down and loose. "I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

Lu 1:17 "He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, 'to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,' and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."

Have done unto him whatsoever they listed. List and lust were originally one word, meaning to desire or wish. The account of his martyrdom is given in

Mt 14:6-12 But when Herod's birthday was celebrated, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod. Therefore he promised with an oath to give her whatever she might ask. So she, having been prompted by her mother, said, "Give me John the Baptist's head here on a platter." And the king was sorry; nevertheless, because of the oaths and because of those who sat with him, he commanded it to be given to her. So he sent and had John beheaded in prison. And his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother. Then his disciples came and took away the body and buried it, and went and told Jesus.

Mr 6:21-29 Then an opportune day came when Herod on his birthday gave a feast for his nobles, the high officers, and the chief men of Galilee. And when Herodias' daughter herself came in and danced, and pleased Herod and those who sat with him, the king said to the girl, "Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you." He also swore to her, "Whatever you ask me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom." So she went out and said to her mother, "What shall I ask?" And she said, "The head of John the Baptist!" Immediately she came in with haste to the king and asked, saying, "I want you to give me at once the head of John the Baptist on a platter." And the king was exceedingly sorry; yet, because of the oaths and because of those who sat with him, he did not want to refuse her. Immediately the king sent an executioner and commanded his head to be brought. And he went and beheaded him in prison, brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the girl; and the girl gave it to her mother. When his disciples heard of it, they came and took away his corpse and laid it in a tomb.

Jesus quotes 19 : Mt 17:17 Then Jesus answered and said, "O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me."

O faithless and perverse generation. Intended especially for the disciples who had failed in the cure from weakness of faith.

How long shall I suffer you? Bear with your shortcomings.

Bring him hither to me. The emphasis is upon me. This act of mercy could have been done by his disciples had they been devout, prayerful and believing.

Jesus quotes 20 : Mt 17:20 So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks. By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude--innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore. These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return. But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them. By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, of whom it was said, "In Isaac your seed shall be called," concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense. By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come. By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff. By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones. By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king's command. By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them. By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned. By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days. By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace. And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again. And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented-- of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth. And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise, God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.

. Faith in Christ, faith exercised in fasting and prayer, are the conditions of power.

Daily jokes

The Army of the Lord

A friend was in front of me coming out of church one day, and the preacher was standing at the door
as he always is to shake hands. He grabbed my friend by the hand and pulled him aside.

The Pastor said to him, "You need to join the Army of the Lord!"

My friend replied, "I'm already in the Army of the Lord, Pastor."
Pastor questioned, "How come I don't "see you except at Christmas and Easter?"

He whispered back, "I'm in the secret service."

LEADERSHIP IN THE CHURCH

The proficiency of any organization, either secular or church is based on the managerian spirit of the leader. Before we get started, let's define leadership.

Leadership according to wikipedia encyclpedia is defined in two ways:
a. those entities that perform one or more acts of leading
b. the ability to affect human behaviour so as to accomplish a mission designated by the leader,

However, leadership is a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and direct the organization (church) in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent. Leaders carry out this process by applying their leadership attributes, such as beliefs, values, ethics, character, knowledge, and skills.

One may ask, are these attributes mentioned above required in church leadership? yes! In prov 4:1-7 we were admonished as christians to get wisdom and understanding. So leaders in the church need more than these to lead.

We are in an age where knowledge is ever increasing. The foundation of the earth, the setting of the heavens the dividing of the cloud, and the dropping of the dew all came to be by wisdom, understanding and knowledge (prov 3:19-20).

Leadership in the church is more practical than that of the secular world.

Jesus called them together and said " you know that the rulers of the gentiles lord it over them, and their officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever want to great among you must be your servant and whoever want to first must be your slave just as the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many "(Matt 20:25-28, Mark 10:42-45, and luke 22:25-27).

Jesus described leadership from a new perspective in the above verses.

Jesus mission was to serve others and to give his life for them. Instead of using people, we are to serve them . A real leader has a servant heart. servant leaders appreciate others worth and realize that they are not above any job.

The New Testament church had various leaders (Eph 4:11-16) who serve members through the word and through physical services. God puts in the body as he wishes, all for the common good. He has give church leadership roles to help the church function in its upward, outward, and inward responsibilities.
QUALITIES OF CHURCH LEADERS
Ref: 1Pet 5:1-4, 1Tim 3:1-13, 3:1-10

Eight of paul's qualification for effective leadership has to do with the character and behviour of the leader.
Having said this, we now look into some qualities of a christian leader.

1. Temperate: Temperate has to do with the control of your spirit -- temperament. A leader must know when rebuke should end and encouragement starts. He encourages people, but knows when encouragement needs to give way to rebuke.

2. Respectable: You earn respect, not command. When we talk of respect today, people see that person as a person in high authority.

A respectable person knows how to give things to people without putting them under obligation to him. He knows how to make request of people without insulting them.(Read Prov 3:3-4, 22:1)

3. He has the word: The meaning of a message is the change which it produces in the image. II Tim 2:15 admonishes us to study and show ourselves approved. If you don't have the word of God in you, what will you give to those you are leading?

Among other things a leader should have is the holy spirit. Paul who is a role model in leadership was a man of the Holy spirit.

Before the disciples could launch out, they where empowered by the Holy spirit for service.

A christian leader who does things with his own understanding will fail. Remember, by the arms of the flesh shall no man prevail.

Belove having said these shall we examine ourselves to see the kind of leaders we are? Know that we can only grow as a church by know when an how each member does his or her work or service.

Infact leaders and the led work together for the same purpose: maturity in christ.
